If you find yourself in Orem, Utah with nothing to do, just head down the road in almost any direction. There are plenty of places to go and things to see that will entertain you for as long as you need.

If you want something a little more recreational, try Wasatch Combat Sports for an MMA workout that will make you feel like a superhero, or hit a yoga or zumba class at Orem VASA. Don’t worry, they’ll definitely have a place for you to shower and freshen up!
Get some delicious chinese food for lunch at Rice Wok in north Orem. Or grab an all-American lunch at Culver’s in West Orem, and take it to the park for people-watching. You’ll probably meet a few Orem locals out for a run, or their friendly dogs. Orem is teeming with courteous people who will let you pet or play with their animals, or respect your desire to not get too close to any of them. You’ll have a relaxing afternoon feeding ducks or joining a game of Capture The Flag.
Evening entertainment is also easy to find in Orem City. If you like art, walk through Orem Heritage Museum to see art depicting the colorful and unique history of Orem. Or, you could go to the UVU Woodbury Art Museum, at University Place, right in the center of Orem, and then do some window shopping through the mall. Have dinner at California Pizza Kitchen, or P.F. Chang’s, both located at University Place, and then hit a movie at the Cinemark nearby.
See a show at Scera Theater on Orem State Street to enjoy a movie. Their classic feel will put you right in Hollywood. There’s also Scera Shell, an outside theater just a couple blocks away that local dance and theater companies frequent for some killer summertime shows!
For something miscellaneous, you could head over to Utah Valley University in Orem, just off the University Pkwy freeway exit, and see what events they have going on. They have sports games, dance concerts, comic shows, or live music that would be sure to entertain you. Enjoy the general university atmosphere and the creativity of learning minds.
There are a million things to do in Orem City, and not nearly enough time to do it. With the mountains on one side and the lake on the other, there’s plenty of variety in activities to choose. Whether you’re enjoying the mountain air, memorizing the view across the lake, or roaming with the natives in Orem’s center, you’re sure to have a great time.
