Finding Food In Orem

Are you in Orem, Utah for the day? Maybe you’re at a work conference that’s meeting at Davinci Meeting Rooms in North Orem. Maybe you’re here with a traveling group, performing for an Orem Audience. Maybe you’re volunteering with American Red Cross for a blood donation bonanza. Whatever the reason for being in Orem, Utah, you need to eat. Doesn’t matter if you have a couple hours for lunch, or just thirty minutes to grab something quick; There’s somewhere that will fit your needs.

If you’re looking for something in Orem, but relaxing and a little cushy, there are several sit-down Italian restaurants that are sure to satisfy. The Old Spaghetti Factory is a great one with traditional Italian favorites, like Spaghetti with Meatballs, or Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, of course served with delicious bread. The decor is a little old-timey, and makes you feel like you’re sitting in a rich villa right in Italy. Orem’s Carrabba’s Italian Grill isn’t too far away, though, if you want a restaurant with a little more variety (classics included, of course). Once again, the pre-meal bread is delicious, and the atmosphere is a little more romantic, while still being unmistakably Italian. But maybe you like italian, but want something a little more casual. I’d recommend the quaint little Terra Mia Ristorante. You can order and receive your food at the counter, choose where to sit, and enjoy a more social eatery. They specialize in their wood-fired pizzas, but they also have other italian fares and delicious gelato for dessert.

Not feeling Italian? How about good ol’ American, then? Orem Black Bear Diner offers all the American comfort foods, tucked away in a ‘momma’s kitchen’ kind of place. Juicy burgers, country fried chicken, breakfast platters, and so much pie will leave you feeling fat and happy. Texas Roadhouse is also beloved in Orem as a wonderful place to watch the game and have a steak. Their loaded mashed potatoes are to die for, and their rolls and honey butter are…kind of famous in Orem.  Another fairly quick, but still not fast-food favorite is Applebee’s. They’re smaller and quieter than Texas Roadhouse, but delicious still the same. Of course, there’s always Denny’s or IHOP that will fill your regular American food cravings, and usually leave you with extra to take home. If you don’t have much time, I recommend In-N-Out Burger in Orem’s center. It’s quick, with the price of your regular BK or McDonald’s, but so much tastier. It’s also just kind of fun to order from their secret menu that can be found online.

If neither Italian or American interest you, Orem has plenty of foreign food to offer. Great China Restaurant for Chinese food in Orem is a great way to go. You could also try some Persian food at Cafe On Fire (delicious). Another favorite is Galilee Grill & Bakery, where they offer many different small plates; they even offer Vegetarian options for Orem’s non-meat-eating friends. Several Mexican, Thai and Indian food restaurants are scattered around, but Mama Chus, Thai Drift and the relatively new Kohinoor are pretty popular these days.

If you can, try a couple different Orem restaurants! If you’re here for lunch and dinner, there’s no reason not to. It’ll leave you feeling satisfied, and maybe even a little adventurous. Hopefully, your time spent in Orem, Utah will be filled with good experiences, and (at the very least) great food!
